    Objectives:
    To understand the logical operation of microcontrollers and their internal architecture.
    To be able to carry out the structured design of the hardware and software to implement a digital system.
    To design interfaces for connecting a microcontroller to sensors in order to detect changes in external conditions.
    To design efficient software for the microcontroller to be able to carry out real time control of external functions based on feedback from the system under control.
    To be able to utilize current computer based development tools to optimize software and hardware designs.

    Grading (tentative):
    1.Midterm: 20%
    2.Midterm: 25%
    Homeworks: 15%
    Final : 40%
    Reference Book:
    Microcomputer Engineering, 3rd Edition, Gene H.Miller, Prentice-Hall, 2004. - Book Stores
    2nd (1999) edition of the same book may also be used.
